About Cathy's Family Day Care

A Note About Me I was raised in Clyde, New York (near the Finger Lakes). I have one brother and two loving parents. As we grew up we spent a lot of quality family time together. I have been an Occupational Therapy Assistant for the past 25 years. In the past I have worked with infants and school aged children with Easter Seals. Presently I have been working with Adult and Geriatric rehab. I am married and have been for the past 22 years. I have 4 great kids, two of which are in college, Sarah and Linda. Amanda is in 11th grade at Lake Worth High School. Lorenzo, 9 years old. I have changed my profession to Child Care in order to be home and give other children the opportunity to be cared for in a small loving and learning environment. I was able to stay home, for 6 years, with my girls as they were growing up and their transition into school was very rewarding. In our home we believe in using our imagination and working together. We have studied, over the years, how we could improve and/or keep our health. We taught this to our children at an early age and it has stuck with them. They are very mindful about what they put into their bodies. They are motivated to doing the best they can and reaching for their highest dream and that is what they continue to do! Expectations I strive to build self esteem, nurture a positive self image and provide a secure natural learning environment in an atmosphere of joy and caring. I will try to fill each day with good things: for you have entrusted me with your most precious treasure – your child! You can expect me to love and cherish your child and give him or her plenty of hugs and kisses!! I will provide your child with two nutritional snacks (morning and afternoon),and breakfast and lunch made everyday from fresh-wholesome food. Please let me know if your child is allergic to any foods or has a special diet. If you would like to bring a special snack for everyone, it is always a nice treat. I expect you to work with me and communicate the concerns you have. We will become partners in seeing that your child receives the best possible quality child care that he or she deserves. Don’t expect my house or your child to be perfectly clean when you arrive for pick up. Playing is learning and can sometimes be messy. My house is full of children having fun all day, so don’t expect my house to always be neat and tidy. I will most likely be doing the messy things that you don’t want to do at home.
